Terms of Service

By using Markdown Studio you agree to these terms. They are written in plain language; if you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Effective date:

1. The service

Markdown Studio is a free, browser-based tool for editing Markdown, styling it, and exporting it as PDF (through your browser’s print dialog), Word, HTML or Markdown. No account is required.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service to create, store or distribute unlawful, infringing, harmful or abusive content;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorized access to the service or its hosting infrastructure;
  • use automated means to place excessive load on the service;
  • try to bypass the security measures of the service, for example by deliberately crafting content to attack other users.

3. Your documents and exports

You keep all rights in the content you write or upload. Your content is processed in your browser (see the Privacy Policy), and you are responsible for it and for how you use the files you export. Please review every exported file before you rely on it or share it: formatting can differ between the preview, PDF, Word and HTML, and different programs may display the same file differently. Back up your Markdown source; the service does not store your documents.

4. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. It may change, be interrupted or be discontinued at any time without notice, and features may be added or removed. Settings saved in your browser may be lost if you clear your browser data or if a change makes them incompatible.

5. Third-party services and content

The site is delivered through third-party hosting (Cloudflare) and uses open-source software libraries. Images or links in your Markdown may point to third-party websites that are outside our control and have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party content or services.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

7. Advertising

The service may in future display advertising. If that happens, the Privacy Policy will be updated before advertising appears.

8. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date above shows when they last changed; continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

9. Contact
